Marjorie’s 2015 move from Silicon Valley to the wonderful Central Coast led to free time and opportunity to explore the finer things in life. Her career as a travel agent with a biology background had nothing to do with art, but Marjorie has always had an appreciation for handcrafts and beauty. A love of natural elements and a wish to share the beauty found in SLO county combined in her photography and jewelry work. Art should be useful, approachable, meaningful, and appreciated; her wire wrap jewelry is a way of transforming upcycled glass and stones into small treasures.
The sea glass was found on Del Monte beach in Monterey, the stones are from her travels, the Nipomo Rock show (held annually at NHS), and Tim, and the art glass is from Harmony Glassworks in Harmony.
Her works are featured at The Dunes Center (museum) in Guadalupe, and that success provided the impetus to continue her efforts. Beauty is best appreciated when it’s shared; Marjorie is happiest when her pieces bring smiles to the owner of her work.
